Mission Trip to Mississippi (5)

Camp Victor

Camp Victor is the hub of all the volunteerism. This warehouse has been refurbished to house, organize, and feed the hundreds of volunteers that come down each week. It can house 200-250 people. And it is full almost every week! It has several bunk rooms, bathrooms, showers, a huge kitchen, dining room, lounge, food distribution center and the tool room (where all the tools used for working and all the supplies needed for rebuilding are found).

The entrance - the three organiziations that sponser Camp Victor are have their logos on the front of the building: Lutheran Disaster Response, Lutheran Social Services of the South, Inc., Christus Victor Lutheran Church.

The right side of the door - Camp Victor's logo!

The outside of Camp Victor has panels in the walls that were of a different cement block type. So to improve the looks of the building they had different local artists paint these panels.

Each panel is painted with a different style and a different view point. Enjoy!
